If you have fast-moving production lines and automation applications that require precision traceability and inspection solutions, a smart barcode reader will be an essential part of your application. There are a few choices when it comes to barcode readers, and AMMC can you find the right one for your application. Today we are going to shine the spotlight on one brand in particular: Omron Microscan’s MicroHAWK line.
About MicoHAWK Barcode Readers
MicroHAWK Barcode Readers are ideal for high-speed imaging on fast-moving production lines. They can decode single, multiple, static, moving, printed, and direct part marks (DPM). They are also easy to use because they offer intuitive setup options that only require users to plug the device in and open a web browser. Their defining feature is their size; they are the world’s smallest 1D and 2D barcode readers (the smallest model measures 24mm x 34mm x 39mm and weighs only 26 g). If space is an issue for you, these barcode readers will do their jobs without eating up valuable “real estate” in your facility.
About the Hardware
MicroHAWK Barcode Readers feature a new UHD lens that will auto focus to read any barcode on any surface. Even the smallest possible codes can easily be identified and read. The product line has four different models that have many customization options:
- Sensors: WVGA, SXGA or QSXGA
- Decoders: Standard, Plus or X-Mode
- Speeds: Standard or High Speed
- Lens: Standard, High-Density or UHD
- Focus: Fixed or Autofocus
- Lighting: Inner/Outer; Red, White, Blue, IR LEDs
About the Software
MicroHAWK Barcode Readers operate using WebLink, the world’s first browser-based barcode reading interface. WebLink requires no software installation and allows users to set up, control, test and monitor barcode readers from the web browser of their choice. It also allows real-time access to barcode reader settings. Best of all, it is extremely intuitive and does not require programming knowledge to perform basic operations. Most users can plug in one a MicroHAWK Barcode Reader and, with very little learning involved, will be able to navigate the interface. This allows you users to integrate MicroHAWK Barcode Readers into any line quickly and easily, severely limiting downtime.
